The application letter serves to lay out your suitability and specific motivation for studying the CEP program. Applicants from other disciplines or who have been away from university/wish to return to studying should explain the change in direction and what they have done in between. Gaps in the CV need to be explained in the application letter. Please make sure to be clear and concise – a good application letter should be no longer than one page!

No application for the qualification assessment test or admission interview is necessary. Step one of the test is done automatically by checking the relevant documents once applicants have submitted their complete application. Once passed successfully, applicants will be invited for the admission interview by the commission.

If you have received a conditional admission letter or an admission letter to the study program B.Sc. CEP by FAU’s admission office, this does not mean selection for the program yet.
It means that the application documents are now passed on to the CEP admission commission for the qualification assessment test. The condition for being admitted to the program and to enrol for CEP is the successful completion of the qualification assessment test of the B.Sc. Clean Energy Processes. Enrolment is therefore only possible with the conditional letter of admission or letter of admission and the proof of successfully passing the qualification assessment test of the B.Sc. CEP program.

There are no tuition fees at FAU (why are there no tuition fees? Find out!).
There is a semester fee of approx. 67,00 EURO for all students.

You can find the related information on FAU’s webpage on financing your studies.

In the B.Sc. CEP the exams are mostly written exams with a seminar achievement as well as a laboratory protocol and a Bachelor’s thesis. All grades that you achieve during the program are part of the final grade. Some grades are weighed more than others.

The department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and the researchers at the Helmholtz Institute for Renewable Energy (HI-ERN) have many industrial contacts, which can be used by CEP students.
